Take a test drive of Crazy 88′s MMA training program…
…and see for yourself why everyone from professional fighters to professional business people love training here!
Everyone teaches MMA or Mixed Martial Arts, but FEW are qualified. Do your research!
Ever since Dana White brought the Ultimate Fighting Championship to world-wide fame, there has been an explosion in “Mixed Martial Arts” (MMA) schools. Some of these programs are run by qualified instructors in a professional environment; Unfortunately, most are not. In fact most MMA programs are…
Renamed Karate or Traditional Martial Arts schools. One day the sign reads Maryland Kung Fu and Karate and the next day it reads Maryland Mixed Martial Arts.
Traditional Martial Arts schools offering a watered-down form of real MMA training. While this is definitely more honest than just renaming the school, these programs do not have the experience or instructors to provide real MMA training.
Martial Arts Fitness Franchises that hire anyone off the street i.e. the LA Boxing model. This is a great approach for the franchise owner because if the program stinks – no problem — he can just fire the instructor and start from scratch. This is not-so-great for individuals looking for a solid consistent training environment.
A bunch of tough guys and street fighters renting a hole-in-the-wall with no real experience competing or training beginners. Be careful if you train or are considering training in a place like this—make sure you have health insurance and know your own limitations.
Mixed Martial Arts can be divided into three areas:
- Striking (i.e. Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai)
- Takedowns (i.e. Wrestling, Judo, Sombo)
- Ground Grappling (i.e. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling)
And each area has to be amazing if we want the whole to be amazing. After all, you can’t expect a world-class dish with B-grade beef.
You are going to be learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi Grappling from the undisputed top team in the Baltimore Area (guess how many World Champions have come from the Baltimore Area outside of Crazy 88? Zero!)
You are going to be learning Muay Thai Kickboxing from striking coaches who all have real fighting experience and are training guys for pure striking matches as well as MMA. You can relax because this is what the coaches do full-time—they are not part-time pizza delivery guys teaching punching and kicking so they can pay their rent. They are professionals.
And best of all, you are going to be under the top Mixed Martial Arts team in the area. There is no guesswork here about what it takes to be successful—we are going to put you on the path to MMA success whether you want to be the next UFC champion or just learn some real MMA fighting skills.
Put these pieces together and you are going to be in the best possible environment to train Mixed Martial Arts.
